Born January 16, 1939, in Everett, PA, he was the son of the late Morgan M. Clark and Lyda V. (Karns) Clark.
Simon graduated from Everett High School in PA and attended Cathermans Business School in Cumberland, MD.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Simon retired after 41 years of employment from Western Maryland/ CSX Railroad as a yardmaster at Brunswick, MD.
He attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Big Pool, MD and was a member of the Joseph C. Herbert American Legion Post 222 of Clear Spring and also a member of the UTU Alumni Association.
Simon is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mable A. Clark, of Big Pool; son, Kevin Clark, and wife, Lisa, of Cooks, MI; daughter, Beth Eyre, and husband, Sam, of Victoria, TX; sister, Vera Wilt of Breezewood, PA; grandchildren, Scott Clark, Kaela Clark, Nathan Williamson, Gwyneth Eyre, and Sam B. Eyre; 3 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Simon was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Mearkle and Marjorie Hengst and one brother, Marvin Clark.
Friends and family are welcome to attend his services in the chapel at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Grant Spong officiating.
