Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. was established by Donald Edwin “Tommy” Thompson. Tommy was born on January 23, 1933 and started his apprentice trade at an early age. In April of 1965, he built his own establishment in Clear Spring, Maryland. Tommy provided professional services to his community until his passing on February 10, 1986, at the young age of 53.
Since the time of Tommy’s passing, his daughter, Sharon Thompson-Shupp, continues to operate and manage the family business.
Jill Armentrout, Tommy’s granddaughter, is a 2015 graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. She received an Associates Degree from PIMS, passed her National Exams, as well as her State of Maryland exams, and became a fully licensed mortician with the State of Maryland in 2016. She plans to continue on her grandfather’s legacy.
