Born April 28, 1947, in Big Spring, MD, he was the son of the late Lauren Harry and Rosie Louise (Shaw) Stevens.
Harry was a 1965 graduate of Clear Spring High School. He enjoyed singing with the Clear Spring Lions Club, at church, and for weddings in his younger years. He sang the Wedding Prayer when he married his wife. He loved music, singing, and dancing. He also enjoyed gardening.
He was employed at Danzer Sheet Metal Company, Fairchild Aircraft, Safeway Foods, Herald Mail Company, and Rohr Industries prior to his retirement in 1992.
He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Big Pool, MD.
Harry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Roxanne L. (Moser) Stevens; daughter-in-law, Kerry (Stewart) Stevens; two precious grandchildren, Madeline and Miles Stevens, all of Clear Spring; three sisters, Julia Vosburgh of Cary, NC, Doris Morrow of Falling Waters, WV, and Patricia (Silvers) Downin and husband, Jack, of Williamsport; sister-in-laws, Evelyn Stevens of Clear Spring, Patsy Kline of Myersville, Lorrena Wyand and husband, Chester, of Boonsboro, Carolyn Moser Smith and husband, Dave, of Hagerstown; brother-in-law Leon Moser and wife, Mary, of Boonsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harry is preceded in death by his loving son, Jason Scott Stevens, in December of 2015; three sisters, Helen Knable and husband, Bobby, Harriet Paulsgrove and husband, Larry, and Ethel Stotler and husband, Ralph; three brothers, Lauren “Bud” Stevens, Harold “Gene” Stevens, and Willard Hart; mother and father-in-law, Edith (Babington) and Calvin Moser; brother-in-laws, Dennis Moser, Meredith Kline, Jack Silvers, and Joe Morrow; and sisters-in-laws, Geraldine McAllister and husband, Allen, Irene Huffer and husband, Arthur, Doris Munson and husband, Maurice, and Pat (Stevens) Michaels; a niece, Brenda (Kline) Williamson; and nephews, Darrell Moser and Andy Craig.
Services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10 am at Hilltop Christian Fellowship, 12624 Trinity Church Drive, Clear Spring with Rev. Dennis Whitmore officiating. Interment will follow in Shanktown Cemetery, Big Pool, MD.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm. at Hilltop Christian Fellowship. For the convenience of friends, you may visit the church after 1 pm.
