Dorothy Hilda Sites-Burnett, 83, formerly of Hancock, MD and a resident of Williamsport Retirement Village, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019, at the home.
Born June 6, 1936, in Berkeley Springs, WV, she was the daughter of the late Luther Agustus Weller and Mary (Mills) Weller.
Dorothy previously worked at Eastern Roper and then retired from Boat US.
She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her life’s first priority was her family. She enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Dorothy is survived by her second husband, Charles A. Burnett, of Hagerstown; her children, Perry Sites (fiance, Kim), Diane Rowe, Barbara McCarthy (Rodney), all of Clear Spring, Brenda Palmer (Dale) of Warfordsburg, PA, Marsha Alexander (Kenny) of Berkeley Springs, WV, Rita Barnard (Chris) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Deb Barkdoll (companion, Joe) of Hedgesville, WV; three sisters, Betty Hensley, Frances Knable, and Ethel Thatcher; a brother, Floyd Weller; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Alvin Sites; daughter, Patricia Ann Sites; son in law, Bill Barkdoll; and several sisters and brothers.
Services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, Md. The Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker will officiate. Interment will follow at Little Rose Hill Cemetery, Clear Spring, MD.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
