Edward Howard Wolfe, 73, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Meritus Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 15, 1944, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Floyd George Wolfe and Margaret Mae (Benson) Wolfe.
Edward was a 1962 graduate of Old Town High School.
He retired in 2004 from General Motors, after 36 years of employment. He was formerly employed with Pittsburgh Paint and Glass in Cumberland.
Edward was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport and a former member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Big Pool, where he was a Sunday School teacher.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed gardening. Most of all, Edward was proud of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and cherished all of the time he spent with them.
Edward was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and a former member of the Elks Lodge of Hagerstown and the Redmen Tribe #84 of Williamsport.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Wolfe, of Clear Spring; two daughters, Pam McMullan and husband, Dave, of Clear Spring and Julie Wright and husband, Christian IV, of Hagerstown; son, Mark Wolfe and wife, Tammy, of Boonsboro; sisters, Georgia Martin, Mary June Mieszkowski, Rosalie Steele, all of Cumberland, MD, and Sandi Wolfe of CO; brother, Major Sonny Wolfe and wife, Brenda, of Old Town, MD; grandchildren, Jeremy McMullan, Chrisitan Wright V, Laura Wright, Caroline Wolfe, and Preston Wolfe; great-grandchildren, Jon True and Wyatt Shrader; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by a grandson, A.J. Shrader.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury Street, Williamsport, MD 21795. Pastor Mike Bennett will officiate. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday from 1 to 2 pm.
