Born October 25, 1930, in Mercersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Aaron Samuel Keefer and Bessie Missouri (Hornbaker) Keefer.
Glenn attended school in the Mercersburg area.
He attended St. Paul’s Reformed Church in Clear Spring.
Glenn retired from Callas Contractors in Hagerstown after 35+ years as a carpenter and was a life-long farmer.
He was a member of the Mercersburg Moose, the Redman Tribe 84 of Williamsport, and the Western Maryland Sportsman Club.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mildred M. Keefer, of Clear Spring; four daughters, Glenda Drury (Tom) of Hagerstown, Robin Saunders (Charles) of Birmingham, AL, Donna Hare (Denny) of Falling Waters, WV, and Karen Sowers (James) of Martinsburg, WV; a son, Shawn Keefer (Tina) of Clear Spring; 9 grandchildren, Heidi, Marci, Megan, Jordan, Lisa, Staci, Spencer, Jesse, and Lexi; and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy J. Keefer and Paul S. Keefer.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD. The Chaplain Jeffrey Casto will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Clear Spring, MD.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm. For the convenience of friends, you may visit the funeral home after noon.
