Born March 23, 1950, in Macon, GA, he was the son of the late William E. Horne and Odessa Rozelle (Mercer) Horne.
Jesse retired from Pavestone, Inc. in 2015 and previously was employed with Apparatus Repair & Engineering, Inc. as an electrical engineer.
He was an avid Georgia and Alabama sports fan, loved the outdoors, and was adventurous.
Being the true southern gentleman that he was, he was loved by everyone that ever had the opportunity to meet him.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Mary K. Castle-Horne, of Clear Spring; daughter, Shauntay Castle of Hagerstown; four sons, Donnie Edwards, Jr. of Clear Spring, Josh Horne, and wife, Lynsay of Nashville, TN, Cody Pearce of Akron, OH, and Dylan Sanders of Canton, OH; two sisters, Hilda Wakefield and husband, Michael of GA, and Pat Hill of NC; grandchildren, Jymeisha Castle, Cory Keith, Trey Keith, Nakia Porter, and Kennadi Pearce; nieces, Lori Prickett and Krista Hancock; nephews, Jeff Hill, Eric Hill, Jason Hill, and Scott Barrs; mother-in-law, Nancy Billman; brother-in-law, Richard Baker, and wife, Linda; two sister-in-laws, Nancy Baker and Rose Mowen, and husband, Danny; beloved canine companions, Morgan and Dessa; and numerous other extended family members.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD. The Rev. Dr. John A. Toms will officiate. Interment will follow at Little Rose Hill Cemetery, Clear Spring, MD.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm. For the convenience of friends, you may visit the funeral home after noon.
