Lawrence James “Lefty” Cornman Sr., 83, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born November 10, 1933, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Eden Elmer Cornman and Eleanor Emma (Cogley) Cornman.
Lawrence retired from CertainTeed as a fork lift operator after 25 years of employment.
He loved fishing and hunting, watching the Steeler’s games, and attending the Hagerstown Sun’s games.
Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marian E. Cornman; daughters, Pam Cogley (Robert), Cindy Wyant (David), and Debbie Waugh; sons, Lawrence James Cornman Jr., James Mills (Rhoni), and Albert Mills (Michelle); a brother, Donnie Cornman; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Klingensmith; sisters, Mary and Annabelle; and brothers, Charles, Victor, and Paul Cornman.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at 11:30 am at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD. The Rev. Scott Hose will officiate. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
