Born February 1, 1945, in Clear Spring, MD, he was the son of the late Henry Armstead Whittington and Hazel Louise (Kershner) Whittington.
Frank was a 1963 graduate of Clear Spring High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He retired from Mack Truck Inc. after 42 years of employment. Frank was also a security guard at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown.
Frank was a sweet, compassionate and patient man who had a true love for his family and the Lord. He befriended everyone he met. Frank loved the Yankees and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He was their biggest fan.
He was a member of Rivers Edge Ministries in Martinsburg, WV. Frank was also a member of the Joseph C. Herbert Post 222 American Legion of Clear Spring and the U.A.W.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, who he promised to love forever, Judy Whittington, daughters, Michelle Andrews of Williamsport, and Marcy Willhite and her husband Jason, of Clear Spring; loving grandchildren, Justin and his wife Tiffany , Collin, and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Ryder and Camden; sisters, Dorothy Rhodes of Hagerstown, and Diana Whittington of Ocean City; sister-in-laws, Joyce Whittington of Hagerstown, Carol Walchshauser of Hagerstown, and Joann Grove of Greencastle; and brothers, Henry Whittington, and his wife Betty of Hagerstown and John Whittington, and his wife Brigitte of Hagerstown; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Matthew Whittington, and a brother, Roy Whittington.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 12:00 pm at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD. The Pastor Eric Kersten will officiate. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service on Saturday from 10am to noon.
