Mariann Saloom was born October 27, 1954 in Hagerstown, MD and was the daughter of the late Virginia R. Seibert and Daniel K. Seibert. She was the loving wife of Rodney G. Saloom, and was a member of St. Paul’s Reformed Church, where they were married 41 years ago. Mariann fought a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
Mariann graduated from Clear Spring High School in 1972 as well as attended Vocational Technical School with a cosmetology certification and was at the top of her class. She spent most of her professional career, before and after raising sons, at Fountaindale Beauty Salon in Hagerstown and Homewood Retirement Center as a cosmetologist.
She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, aunt, sister, mother in law, and grandmother. She was a friend to everyone she met. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. Mariann enjoyed Zumba, cooking, sewing, traveling, cruises, flowers, gardening, and most of all, family gatherings.
Mariann was preceeded in death by her parents, and brother, John B. Seibert, sister in law, Anita Saloom, mother and father in law, Angelina and David Saloom. She is survived by husband, Rodney G. Saloom, sons, Justin E. Saloom (wife Krista) and Philip H. Saloom (wife Heather), and and grandson, Maximus. She is also survived by her loving sister, Cassie, and brothers, Jim, Tim, Paul, sister in law, Sally Seibert, brother in law, David Saloom, and brother in law, Marc Saloom.
Mariann also became very close to the many caregivers that gave her wonderful care and support over the last four years and they will not be forgotten.
There will be a graveside service at St. Paul’s Church, 14234 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD 21722 on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11 am with Rev. Dan Hetherington officiating. There will be a luncheon following the service.
