Born November 16, 1944, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Homer Samuel Grimm and Susan Violetta (Leslie) Grimm.
Virginia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Patrick McCusker Sr., in 2007.
She was a 1962 graduate of Boonsboro High School and a 1965 graduate of Washington County Hospital School of Nursing at Pangborn Hall, where she received her degree in Registered Nursing.
Virginia was employed as a nurse for Dr. Edson Moody for many years. She retired from the Washington County Commission on Aging.
She was an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Clear Spring.
Virginia was also an active alumni for her nursing school, a parish nurse, a member of the Golden Age of the Knights of Columbus and a member of many 500 card playing groups.Virginia enjoyed supporting her 4 grandchildren with their sports and was their # 1 fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Christa Hoffeditz and husband, Craig, of Mercersburg, PA; her son, Charles Patrick McCusker Jr. and wife, Kristine, of Baltimore; her brother, Lester Grimm and wife, Betty, of Bel Air; 4 grandchildren, Eva Nicole McCusker, C. Patrick McCusker III, Isabelle Sage Hoffeditz, and Avery Cort Hoffeditz; and numerous extended family members.
The family will receive friends at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., Clear Spring, MD on Friday, July 3, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm. For the convenience of friends, you may visit the funeral home after noon.
An outdoor celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at 10 am at 12249 Boyd Road, Clear Spring, MD 21722 with Father Tom Gills officiating. Interment will follow at Little Rose Hill Cemetery in Clear Spring.
